About Us
Whatever it takes is a sport fishing boat based in Kenya. She is a 37 ft Bertram battle wagon with twin 375hp Caterpillars and is fully kitted with all the gear and gadgets needed to help you catch what you want. She also is a very Luxurious boat with a fully furnished galley with Air conditioning.

Fishing in Kenyan waters makes an angler spoilt for choice with everything from Dorados (mahi mahi), King Fish, Tuna to Sailfish, Black, Blue and Stripped Marlin. This gives an angler the opportunity to catch the Fantasy slam in one day of fishing.
Chasing Billfish
With one of the best fisheries in Africa, Kenya is a hot spot for billfish. Kenya offers 5 of the prestige billfish Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Stripped Marlin, Sailfish and Broadbill. Black Marlin and Sailfish are around all season long from late September till early April. Blues and Stripped marlin usually come from December till March. The hottest time in the season is January, February and March where there are larger numbers of marlin compared to the rest of the other months.

Inshore/Bottom Fishing
Inshore Fishing has a wider range of possible fish to catch. The most common ones are Dorado (mahi mahi), Wahoo, King fish, Baracuda and Tuna. You also have a chance to catch a Black Marlin and sailfish. Inshore fishing can be done all season long.
The Tunas can appear in larges numbers during August to November and then reappear in February until the change of the winds in March.
Half Day

Half day fishing consists of a 5 Hour fishing trip that starts anytime for example 6:30 am to 11:30 or from 9:30 to 2:30 depending on you.
Half day fishing would primarily be for inshore fishing allowing you to have 5 of hours of exiting fishing. It restricts you from going Marlin fishing as the grounds are very far out.
Full Day
A full day of fishing consists of a 10 hour trip from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Full day of fishing allows you to choose either inshore and/or marlin fishing. Going out for 10 hours allows you to catch more fish.
Predominantly the Marlin waters are a fair distance away, a full days of fishing allows you to get to the fishing grounds and spend more time looking for the Marlin.
Night Fishing
Night fishing is mainly done to target Broadbill. "Whatever It Takes" is fully kitted for night fishing with all the necessary lights and tackle to help you catch your Broadbill. You also have a choice of going day night day or just going for the night. The day night day starts from 10 am till the following day 10 am a full 24 hours to try catch the billfish Fantasy slam, the second option is from 4 pm till 9 am the next day.
